Description Gregor Mi 2016-06-25 11:24:31 UTC
We were in a hurry to go out and needed to print some street maps. I let my partner do the printing from my notebook. But the printer did not print despite the fact that I turned it on (see also https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362143).

I fixed the problem by realizing that the printer was paused and I resumed it.

I noticed the following (I have got a HP network printer):

1. If the printer is turned off and there are no pending documents the status is "Idle"
2. When I then send a document there are notifications that the document is sent to the printer and that the "Rendering is complete". And: the printer is set to the "paused" status.
3. When I send further document I get the same sent to printer notifications but it won't print anything because the printer was paused by the previous (so no matter if the printer is online or offline)
4. If I press Resume button I have to enter the root password. I would find it better if this was not needed.
