When typing in multiline text, the text itself looks glitchy (for lack of a better term) and if I type in too much, Krita crashes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new file. 2. Select the text tool. 3. Make sure it's in multiline mode. 4. Make your text area. 5. Type away. Actual Results: Text entered looks glitched, and if I type too much, Krita crashes. Expected Results: Showed the typed-in text without it looking all glitchy-like or making Krita crash. OS: Windows 10 Home build 10586.420 CPU: 2.2GHz Intel Celeron N2830 RAM: 4GB GPU: Intel HD Graphics
Created attachment 99672 [details] An example of the bug. As you see, it led to a crash.

Hi, We know the text tool is not in a good state, hence this year's kickstarter campaign: https://krita.org/2016kickstarter. There will be a complete rewrite, with not much of the existing code being reusable.
Confirming that the text tool is still glitching. Both Artistic and Multi-line. I tried using different fonts and font sizes and have not had much luck with getting a good result. Using version 3.0.1.1 of Krita

Krita v3.1.3 Confirming that the text tool is still showing artifacts.
We just merged the new text tool.
I have just tested the multiline tool in Krita 4.0.0-pre-alpha (x86_64 appimage). The glitches are still present when editing the text, but they go away when I move the text box. Additionally, I noticed that the textbox "flickers" when moving it with the "Select Shapes Tool".
That build still has the old text tool.
Doh! I was so excited that I went to the download page instead of the git repo. I pulled from master and WOW the new text tool looks nice!
