Description Thomas Pfeiffer 2016-06-23 14:09:32 UTC
When dragging a widget over the widget explorer, it's supposed to go semi-transparent so that one can place a widget under it.
However, when doing so, it flickers between opaque and semi-transparent, and then goes semi-transparent when you move the widget away from it again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on "Add Widgets"
2. Drag a widget
3. Move the cursor over the widget explorer

Actual Results:
Explorer flickers

Expected Results:
Explorer goes semi-transparent

I can see it both on an AMD GPU and an Intel GPU with 5.6.5 on Manjaro and on 5.6.95 on Neon.

I can reproduce flickering of semitransparent 'Add Widgets...' window upon grabbing and moving it's widgets under it's surface

Also confirmed on Arch Linux, plasma 5.12.2.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2018-11-26 15:17:14 UTC
Confirmed. I've seen this on every version of Plasma I've ever used on my laptop with an Intel GPU.
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2019-02-25 04:43:18 UTC
I'm no longer able to reproduce this in Plasma 5.14.5, 5.15.2, or git master on KDE Neon, Kubuntu, or Manjaro, when using the very same hardware.

Can anyone still reproduce this when using a relatively recent Plasma version?
Comment 5 Patrick Silva 2019-02-25 12:29:41 UTC
I can't reproduce here.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0
Qt Version: 5.12.1
