Description Leszek Lesner 2016-06-21 10:07:12 UTC
Most of the time it does not make sense for a user to see the software list of a category from A to Z by default.

It would be better to only show the most downloaded or best reviewed 10 apps from a category in the main grid view.
This reduces loading times + ram usage of each category drastically and is a way better way to discover software then a A-Z list of apps.

Reproducible: Always

Can you elaborate on what's the exact bug? Slow loading time?
How do you know it reduces loading times? if anything, if you delay fetching it increases intermediate times.

Elaborate

Loading 10 Items instead of more should decrease loading times always.
The big delay when you click a catgeory from the main page should vanish on the majority of supported systems.
Loading 10 Top Apps on the main page of a category is also what makes most sense.
A list from Apps from A-Z is just absolutely makes no sense as no user will ever scroll the whole list. Having this as default is the completely wrong decision.

Take a look at other software stores. No one loads a long list from Apps from A-Z.
They don't a) because it eats up a lot of memory and reduces loading times and
b) it is an awful way to present apps

I'm not sure what you're referring to. We don't show all resources in the main window.

You want pages in the views instead of scrolled lists?
