When you have multiple instances of a single application open and they are grouped you can only close one window at a time instead of keeping the tooltip open to close other ones, too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open multiple instances of an app, so that they group (or simple use icon only taskmanager) 2. Try to close a few one of them Actual Results: The tooltip will close and only one instance will be closed Expected Results: The tooltip should stay up as long as my mouse is hovering over the icon so that I can close more windows
Changing the behavior would be fairly trivial but I'll let Usability team decide whether we should do that.
Interestingly enough, the tooltips are inconsistent between the regular task manager and icon-only task manager. The regular one behaves as asked for here, only the icon-only one closes the tooltip. This inconsistency should be fixed, and keeping the tooltip open makes more sense, so please change it in icon-only.
For me it doesn't work in either the regular nor icon- only task manager
I just checked the code and both applets should behave the same, ie. close the popup when one window is closed
Strange. I've just re-tried and the task manager still keeps it open. Maybe you both are using 5.7 beta or master and it was changed with the new task manager? I don't know, but keeping it open definitely makes more sense.
There's no code differences between the regular and icons-only Task Managers as far as the tooltip is concerned. Both currently close the tooltip. It's possible to change this and I'm not opposed.
