The new systray in 5.7 shows tiny icons with very big margins (at least in high DPI screens) Reproducible: Always

Yeah I also have pretty large spacing between icons
Same problem here. It was working perfectly fine in 5.6. I'm using a retina screen and now the icons look really small.
Created attachment 99578 [details] 5.7 panel Before 5.7 the systray icons looked the same size than the taskbar icon.
Same here on 5.7.0 on Arch. 1920*1080 display.

Created attachment 99911 [details] Screenshot I actually prefer the small ones. :( Spacing seems ok at my case (kde neon). Also with the large icons the language indicator flag is broke. See attachment
Created attachment 100050 [details] Large systray icons on 5.7.1 Unfortunatelly, now it is TOO big. Worked fine on my 1366x768 screen on 5.6. 5.7.0 also had no detectable changes, but on 5.7.1 it is occupying all height of the panel and scaling badly (pixels visible on akregator, skype and telegram icons, for example). A border approx. the size of the taskbar icons would be prefered.
This seems to "break" icons on non-HiDPI screens (they are larger than they was on 5.7.0). See for example http://i.imgur.com/wS0k3jr.png Any chance to reconsider this patch?
The new systray icon size is terrible, too big. Nobody tested this change before made the release?

If I reduce panel heigth to reduce icon size, the rest (menu buttons, task manager... gets to small. My screen: 15,4" with 1680*1050 kind regards Florian
Systray icons are huge now! https://i.imgur.com/kxetVCJ.png Please fix to make them small the way they were before (like other people are talking about)
In plasma 5.7.1 now it looks too BIG, is terrible,. My display: 14'' with 1920x1080 resolution
In my opinion, having the tray icons bigger than the Task Manager icons looks bad. Perhaps there should be an update to keep the tray icons a certain size relative to the height/width of panel. A bit like how Windows does it.
Systray icons are huge in 5.7.1.

I have found new bug report about this problem (huge systray icons) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365570
I'm now on Plasma 5.7.2 but my systray icons are still much too small and do not scale with taskbar height. Using Fedora 24. Do I have to reset a certain setting?

well ... i still don't get it.. what exactly is the problem with giving the user a choice ?? i understand that the systemtray icons should scale relative to the systemtray / panel but you could still offer an option to chose between "small" "smallMedium" and "medium" (still relative) without having the user to manualy hack the qml file.. this is against the usual kde philosophy IMHO some users just don't want the systray icons to be as big as the program starter icons.. there already is a patch.. please reconsider and just apply it.. no harm will follow from this!
