Description rumly111 2016-06-16 15:36:20 UTC
When I want to add a PPA, I open Discover, in menu I select "Configure Sources", then I press "+" (Add Source) button. It is showing a small rectangle (about 20x2 pixels), and nothing more. As a result, I cannot add external PPA without installing additional tools (apt-add-repository etc).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Discover
2. Click "Configure Sources" in menu
3. Click + ("Add Source")

Actual Results:
Shows small rectangle under the button (20x2 pixels)

Expected Results:
Not sure, I guess it should show some menu to add a PPA.

I use Ubuntu 16.04, KDE Neon edition.

Forgot to mention, I'm using KDE on Wayland
Comment 2 Aleix Pol 2016-06-16 16:17:02 UTC
Which distribution are you running?
Comment 3 rumly111 2016-06-17 20:09:03 UTC
It's based on Ubuntu 16.04, I installed from KDE Neon Live CD (they have a special wayland edition). https://neon.kde.org/

Not sure if I need to open a new issue, as I can's add source via Muon -> Settings -> Configure Software Sources -> Other Software -> Add...
After pasting any PPA source and clicking OK, nothing happens.

Kubuntu 18.04.1 64bit, KDE 5.12.6, Muon 5.8.0

@Andrew - I think the bug submitter already replied in comment 3.
And later, comment 4, I replied with the detailed system info about the same (or very similar) issue.

What additional info needed for fixing this?
Comment 7 Andrew Crouthamel 2018-09-28 17:05:59 UTC
OK, thanks for the update. I'll move this to Reported.
Comment 8 Aleix Pol 2018-10-01 16:18:12 UTC
Add source dialog was disabled for PackageKit because it didn't work well.

Native tooling needs to be used instead.
Comment 9 boaz.dodin 2018-10-01 16:22:59 UTC
@Aleix - it just don't make any sense - the "Add..." button still here, but it was just disabled?

Is there any follow-up bug about removing the button or fixing the issue and enabling it back?
Comment 10 Aleix Pol 2018-10-01 17:18:27 UTC
If you use the latest stable release you won't see the button.
