Please, check the image url first. It's specially noticeable at resolutions below 1920x1080... for instance, painting on an old laptop with 1360x768 many times I enter “show canvas only” when I would just be happy to contract side dockers a bit more... Same goes for the toolbox, now we can't contract it to create a single column... it's a bit frustrating, in that particular case, users would need a way to scroll vertically, I would suggest to use MMB for this. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: I would like to be able to contract it a bit more!
Hi Zafio, How small dockers can become depends on which dockers are in there. The toolbox actually can become only one column wide, and in 3.0, doesn't even force a certain window height anymore. There isn't much we can do to force the other dockers to become less wide, it's very much a matter of it fits or not, sorry.
(In reply to Boudewijn Rempt from comment #1) Hi Boudewijn, I can't get the toolbox to be one column wide, I guess the problem is my vertical resolution is too low to fit all icons and I'm forced to stick with two columns so I don't need to scroll that docker? Thanks.
well, it won't scroll for me, but with 3.0, I can make the toolbox one icon wide no matter how high the window. It just means a bunch of icons are hidden.
(In reply to Boudewijn Rempt from comment #3) Maybe it is a bug then? perhaps it is just Windows? For the record, can't get more canvas "real state" than this (without going canvas only mode): http://imgur.com/IhqsK1B
No... I can make the toolbox 1 column wide on Windows, too even if that means icons are inaccessible. We're not going to implement some kind of scrolling or panning for dockers to be partly visible -- that sort of thing is just way too hard to maintain.
Well, I don't know what happend, but after getting it out from the border and in few times trying to find a layout that didn't bother me, it finally allowed the toolbox to be 1 column wide!... what a mistery... Anyway, thanks for your attention, and sorry for being a pester! O:)
I don;t know either, but never be sorry for bringing stuff to my attention -- it's a mile better than keeping silence!
