Description Peter Lynch 2016-06-09 20:34:43 UTC
After completing a manual setup, the system attempts to connect to my back.
I get a dialog box which says:

The error seems to be missing its data!

Not enough info to proceed.

I have several screen snap shots that I can forward if necessary.

The error code looks more like a JSON response to me. This is not what the OFX protocol expects.

Where did you get the URL and other information for online access from? Does your bank claim to support OFX online banking? I don't see 'PC Financial' listed on ofxhome.com which we use as directory service, so I assume you have entered them manually.

I was trying to set up my bank to see if I could download QFX files directly into KMyMoney.

I hadn't found any mention that the bank had to supply the OFX file format for this feature to work and the error didn't tell me enough to see my mistake.

President's Choice Financial personal banking services are provided by the direct banking division of CIBC.

Thank you for your quick response,

Peter Lynch.

I just checked https://www.cibc.com/ca/accessibility/online-services.html which neither lists QFX nor OFX but just a browser based access. In case you can download QFX/OFX files from your bank, you could try to use File/Import to load them into KMyMoney.

The link you used to map the account https://www.txn.banking.pcfinancial.ca/ebm-resources/public/client/web/index.html#/signon is certainly not correct for OFX connectivity, as it is the web based login page.

Mapping an account requires a direct online connection between KMyMoney and the bank and talking a specific protocol (HBCI, OFX, ...). A simple download is not enough for this to work. From what I see, that feature is probably not supported by your bank. You may talk to their customer support to find out what exactly is supported in case you haven't..

This does not solve your issue, but it is a downstream problem at/with your bank. Please feel free to reopen the bug in case I am completely wrong.
