Description Or Schiro 2016-06-01 20:00:50 UTC
Dear all,

As shown in the below screenshot, some of the buttons such as `Play` are improperly shown on Ubuntu 16.04:

I installed the version 16.04.0 from the ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-testing.

Can anyone confirm this problem?

Thankfully,

~Robert

Reproducible: Always

Robert,

as you are on Ubuntu, but not on Kubuntu, that may be due to the required icon sets not getting installed. Can you please install also the Breeze icon themes?

On a sidenote, please consider upgrading to Kdenlive 16.04.1; it's available from the stable ppa, ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable -- I've just checked to be sure. Please use the testing ppa only if you have good reason to do so. I'm not even going to mention the git master ppa here for some good reason :)

Thank you very much for your help!

Indeed now the buttons are shown after installing kde-runtime which seems to provide the right icons.

Moreover I made sure to have installed version 16.04.1.

However, the official website states that users should install testing and not stable:

https://kdenlive.org/download-ubuntu

Can you confirm this?

Thankfully,

~Robert

Robert,

glad to hear that your problem is fixed now. As for the website I'll have to nudge them to update this information. But as the testing-ppa usually only contains bug fixes but not new features it should be pretty safe for you to use the testing-ppa instead of the stable-ppa.

That's good to know.

Thank you so much! :)

Warmly,

~Robert
