true indeed. similar suggestions were made a few times. it should be easier to remove e.g. Gnome-Builder's associations - of which there are far too many - in one fell swoop via GUI. Or at least reprimand it to X-KDE-InitialPreference=3 see: https://userbase.kde.org/Dolphin/File_Management#Change_a_File_Association_on-the-fly The Builder.desktop file needs to be edited for this, which now must be done manually.
Isn't this located in System Settings > Default Applications ?
