Description Uli 2016-05-20 23:26:07 UTC
Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa 64-bit
When opening the program, the toolbar on the left side is missing. No way to select pencil, line, eraser etc.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open KolourPaint4 on Linux Mint 17.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
KolourPaint opens without tools.

Expected Results:
KolourPaint opens with a toolbar on the left side.

Sometimes from Menu/Software Manager,Kolourpaint4, if you press install-button: Nothing happens. You gotta use Menu/Package Manager, this works.
In Linux Mint 13 32-bit KolourPaint worked very well.

Thank you very much, Martin, for your help!

In the screenshot you can see that: instead of "settings" figure "No
text". Anyway, "toolbars shown" is available, and the toolbox is checked.

In the SoftwareManager, a review said, after installing kdelibs-bin, and
2 more kdelibs5 packages, KolourPaint was finally running!
I tried this, and the menu figured no longer "No text".

Strange: if you get KolourPaint from Linux Mint 13, you gotta download
almost 70 MBytes, but if you get it from Linux Mint 17, it's just 5 MB!
So, with Synaptic Package Manager I installed most of the packages
required from Mint 13, and now everything works fine!!!

Conclusion: This appears to be a bug of KolourPaint, but it isn't.
It is a bug of Synaptic Package Manager or Mint 17; it just does not
install enough packages in Mint 17 for KolourPaint.
