New KF5-version kcolorchooser freeze plasmashell or krunner.
Only xkill to kcolorchooser temporary solved problem.
archlinux x86_64
kcolorchooser 16.04.1
plasma-desktop 5.6.4

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Krunner
1. run kcolorchooser from krunner
2. krunner freezed

Plasmashell
1. run kcolorchooser from task widgets (icons only)
2. plasmashell freezed

Could you please check if removing "X-DBUS-StartupType=Multi" from kcolorchooser.desktop fixes the issue?

I can confirm that this behaviour is reproducible on kcolorchooser 16.04.1 and I can confirm as well that removing "X-DBUS-StartupType=Multi" from the kcolorchooser.desktop fixes this issue. This change should be integrated and this ticket markes as resolved.

I just tested with krunner, I was unable to reproduce this bug.

ArchLinux
Plasma 5.7.0
Frameworks 5.24
Qt 5.7.0
Kernel 4.6.3-1-ARCH
OS Type 64 Bit

My hardware is:
Dell Precision M4400
2GB DDR2 800mHz
500GB SATA 2 HDD
Core 2 Duo P8700

Touch kcolorchooser on widget tasks (icons only) and run from this > plasmashell freeze!

drop X-DBUS-StartupType key from kcolorchooser.desktop

kcolorchooser doesn't seem to support it, and reports on quit:
KDEInit could not launch
as reported downstream at

Runs fine after, no KDEInit errors on close
