It sounds crazy, but I cant get a sane layout from the message list in my inbox. The only header of the list says subject, but below I see names of senders. Those can be expanded to show subject lines but I have no idea when they are from. What I want is just a list of emails sorted by date: from, subject, date, size. I have tried to right click the message list header. The right fields are there. When I clcik Adjust column sizes nothing happens. I've tried pulling them to the size to resize. Nothing helps I've used KDE since 2004 and is used to using this kind of interface... (It's been some years since using kmail, but that shouldn't matter to this). Reproducible: Always

Hello Pascal, I believe what you wanted was the "Flat date view" aggregation paired with edited "Classic" or "Smart" theme. Those expandable lines you see show the way email is aggregated into groups (View > Message list > Aggregation). The content you see after you expand them is shown with a specific theme. Flat date view removes those expandables entirely, and the Classic and Smart themes show From, Subject and Date. You can go to Configure KMail... > Appearance > Message list to configure these things and edit the theme to include Size. Alternatively, you can right click the columns and tick the option Size.
