I have seen posts that explain how to install Digikam 4.14 in Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.04 (see here for example: http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2015/10/digikam-4-14-0-released/). But I can't manage to use 4.14 in the latest Kubuntu release 16.04. Is there a way to do that? It would be great, because I need a feature that has been added in that version (fullscreen mode). Thanks in advance. Reproducible: Always
Please report this problem to packagers, not to developers. So typically on Kubuntu bugzilla. Gilles Caulier
Wow, it's really not easy to find the right place (I've had the same problem with other issues). Could you tell me where to find that Kubuntu bugzilla? Searching for it the top hint is actually bugs.kde.org.

Just in case somebody else stumbles upon this post: I contacted Philip Johnsson who maintains the PPA at https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/ubuntu/extra and he told me that he is working on packages of digikam 4.14 and digikam 5 beta 6 for Ubuntu 16.04 right now that he will upload to his PPA. But there are still some issues with geolocation and maps that he hasn't been able to solve yet.
The packages have been published in the aforementioned PPA.
Since digiKam 5.0, we provide a Linux bundle as AppImage format which can run under Kubuntu without to install anything... Gilles Caulier
