With the new Timeline > Removal > Extract Timeline Section we still have the old Timeline > All Clips > Ripple Delete Ctrl+X which seems to do the same. However, the old ripple delete seems to be broken. When tested on the same testing project as used for extract tests, ripple delete does not work correctly: it shuffles clips around without correctly removing the region; also, transitions get shuffled around too instead of correctly cut. I would thus like to suggest to remove ripple delete completely.
