breadcrumbs with arrows and dots

See the attached image.
Currently the breadcrumb use dots between its entries during the hierarchical navigation by columns.
Proposed:
1) use arrows instead of dots (see image) for hierarchical navigation
2) use dots for navigation between tabs (alternative navigation to the hierarchical one, maybe not implemented yet)
Reason: the arrows suggest a hierarchical relation between the views, the dots instead suggest an "horizontal" relation between views (useful for tabs navigation)
