A number of jpeg files are attached to email. When I try to show them inline, it does not work and I can see the following on konsole (starting kmail from konsole): log_messageviewer: unknown mimetype "image/jpg" log_messageviewer: unknown mimetype "image/jpg" ... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Receive a message with several jpg image attached 2. start kmail 3. Set View->Attachements->inline Actual Results: Kmail shows a list of attachments but does not show the images (broken icons or text is displayed instead) Expected Results: Images should be visible The problem occurs both on clean kubuntu-16.04 install (from ISO image) and on upgraded host (15.10->16.04). The same email are decoded properly on kubuntu-15.10 (older kmail)
Please provide email example saved as mbox please
Hello Laurent, I have attached two files: 1. test.mbox This was created by LightRoom on Windows (sending photos by email). In this case Kmail is even unable to show the message structure properly. For example, if you try to do "Save Attachments", it says "Found no attachments to save" 2. test2-attached_from_Kmail.mbox The same two images attached and sent by Kmail itself. In this case, the message structure looks OK but images are still not visible in "Inline" mode. Regards, Alex

I fixed warning about mimetype. I verify test case it works fine. I fixed it in 5.1.x I thought that it was in 5.1.3 but seems to be not here... but in 5.2 it's fixed for sure
So is there a work around for us that have 5.1.3? Running Kubuntu 16.04 so what's the solution for me?
No solution for 5.1.3 You need to upgrade your version. Regards
