Description Texstar 2016-04-23 06:37:42 UTC
16.04 now says No suitable plugin for tar.gz files. Ark does not support this file type. I'm sure it worked fine the previous version.

Reproducible: Always

Hi,

1. Please start Ark from terminal and post here the debug output when you try to open a tar.gz file. The command you have to to run is:

$ QT_LOGGING_RULES=ark.*.debug=true ark

2. What about other formats? Can Ark open e.g. zip files?

I was able to resolve the issue by updating our shared-mime-info package then running update-database.
