Description adr.fantini 2016-04-22 08:08:57 UTC
Plasma panel auto hide behaviour is quite simple, thus it does not match the very nice behaviour of other OS' panels. Take for example Elementary's Plank dock: that autohides intelligently, which means that it's always there when you expect it to be there (non-fullscreen windows), and hidden when you don't (fullscreen windows). In short, intellinget hide means the panel only hides if it actually is in the way.

Also, the current Plasma panel hides and shows with no animation whatsoever, just abruptly appears and disappears. This looks so 2008!

It would be awesome if it was possible to implement intelligent hiding (again, Plank is a good example), also calle intellihide or intelligent-hide.

Thanks!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just hide or unhide panels
2. Try with maximizing windows, move them around
3. Install Plank (or others) and try with that for comparison
