Normally, there shouldn't be any task for yakuake shown in the task manager when pressing the hotkey since it is a "background application". But sometimes, opening yakuake with the hotkey creates a task, as opened windows do, in the task manager (on the panel, in default). Clicking on the task closes (retracts) yakuake. The frequency of the incident is completely random. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Installed Yakuake from official repositories 2.Opened the application, set global alternative hotkey this one: ` 3.Kept using the application Actual Results: After a few times of trying, opening yakuake will create a task in the task manager. It closes when retracting yakuake or when clicking on the task Expected Results: Yakuake shouldn't create a task in the task manager Please see into this issue, as minor as it may seem, it still matters to us :) I can upload screenshots too.
If you mean with "task manager" the "task bar", I am experiencing the same issue on Arch Linux with Yakuake 3.0.2.
Same here in Kubuntu 16.10.
Probably a duplicate of bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343061, I also experience this issue on openSUSE Tumbleweed with Yakuake 3.0.2, Plasma 5.8.2, Frameworks 5.27.0 and Qt 5.7.0.
Confirming this bug in Yakuake 3.0.4+ Qt Version: 5.9.1 Frameworks Version: 5.36.0 Operating System: Linux 4.9.40-1-MANJARO x86_64 Distribution: "Netrunner Rolling"
Same here, up to date Arch Linux QT 5.10 KDE 5.41 Yakuake 3.0.4
I also experience this bug. Manjaro Linux yakuake 3.0.5 KDE 5.14.5 Qt 5.12.0 Here's a workaround if someone is interested: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/intermittent-yakuake-taskbar-icon/19035
Can confirm. I've noticed that its very random, if I press my toggle key a lot of times it will be in the taskbar. Yakuake: 3.0.5 Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20190423 KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2
I have noticed that the Yakuake task disappears from the taskbar. Adding applyWindowProperties(); in mainwindow.cpp, right before emit windowOpened(); seems to solve the issue.
FWIW: Still happens for me on Kubuntu 19.10, Yakuake 3.0.5+, Qt 5.12.4. Also: Duplicate of bug 360037?
This issue seems to have come up again after a while. I don't remember noticing this issue going some while back. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 Kernel Version: 5.5.2-arch1-1 OS Type: 64-bit
Created attachment 129732 [details] screen recording of it happening I can confirm this still happens. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.15 Kernel Version: 5.6.16-1 OS Type: 64-bit
