Description of desktop freeze: Audio works and moving the mouse works, however no other input works until the freeze is over (keyboard input will go where it was previously designated to go for example). Also, nothing moves on the screen except mouse motion (which is the only input that happens real time). I have watched the second hand on the analog clock widget and the freeze lasts 30 seconds (second hand jumps from the 6 and then immediately to the 12 for example) Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a file in KATE or open a file With KATE 2. Right click files or folders in Dolphin 3. Open Krunner Actual Results: Keyboard and mouse click input freezes, everything on desktop view freezes except mouse movement in real time. Expected Results: There should be no freezing So far this happens when I: 1 - open a file in KATE. This can include opening KATE and then opening a file, or opening a file with KATE (happens every time) 2 - Right click a folder or file in Dolphin (happens only sometimes) 3 - Open Krunner (happens only sometimes) Running Kubuntu 15.10 GPU: GTX 970 with Nvidia current drivers installed
I've just tested and I'm unable to reproduce this issue in the lastest Plasma/Kate/Dolphin/Krunner from git master. Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved, thanks.
