Hi there, Kyle.

Do you have the GPU accelerated movit library enabled? If so, please disable it in settings and see if you still get the same error.

Also, please add in the version of kdenlive that you are using.

Thanks for the bug report.

Hi,

I'm using version 15.12.2 on Fedora 23. I feel like it might not be fully
ready, but when I downgrade to Kdenlive 9 it won't open at all. How do I
disable GPU accelerated movit library? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks for your help. I'm tempted to switch to Ubuntu and see if that
solves the issues. I just really like fedora.

Hi there...

Wow, 15.12.2 was a couple of months ago. There has been a few changes since then.

Anyways, to get to the movit enable/disable:
Click on the "settings" tab
Click on "Configure Kdenlive"
Click on "Playback"
Make sure that the check box for "Use GPU processing(Movit library)" is un-ticked.

It probably is, but this would be the first thing to check.

Kdenlive runs better in KDE... if you want to try a distro just for kdenlive, try Kubuntu, or another distro that uses the KDE desktop.
It may very well be that you are missing a required library. I don't know how things work in Fedora, but if you can contact the maintainer of the kdenlive package he/she might be able to help you as well as anyone here.

I personally use Arch, but it's a little bit of a learning curve to get it installed. It's a pretty powerful distro. But the manuals are good, and you get the kdenlive-git package that I maintain in the AUR for free.

Do you have more than one processing threads enabled? If yes, can you please set to 1 in Kdenlive configuration, tab environment, and check? Please report back. Thank you very much for your cooperation!
