When an audio clip is opened in the Clip Monitor, the display during playback shows the yellow lines with the audio waveform. I have some considerable objections to this:

(1) This looks kinda cheesy and unprofessional.
(2) This serves no practical purpose: you can't pinpoint a certain moment in the audio clip with it, and it doesn't indicate the volume of the audio clip nearly as accurately as the new (and awesome) volume levels in the Monitor controls.

I'd encourage considering this: when opening an audio clip in the Clip Monitor, have an overlay in the Clip Monitor window showing the same details/properties of the audio clip that would be in the Clip Properties widget. No animation. Benefits:

(1) This would display much more relevant data to the editor when working with the audio clip, filling the display with something more helpful for editing.
(2) It would look more professional.

Maybe even consider, in the context menu, replacing the "Overlay Audio Waveform" at the bottom to "Overlay Audio Clip Details", and have it enabled by default when working with audio clips. (This is confusing, anyways, since the bottom option in the context menu and the one in the "Current Monitor Overlay" sub-menu have the same text, but produce different results.)

Reproducible: Always

Suggested while using Kdenlive 16.07.70 git master build via the kdenlive-master ppa. Ubuntu 16.04 x64, Unity 7.4.0 desktop environment.

A lot changed since 2016. The monitor shows an improved (not animated) waveform now.
