Reproducible: Always

Are you talking about the "audiolevel" dockwidget or the audiolevel that is integrated in the monitor ?
I deprecated and plan to completely remove the audiolevel dock widget.
If you are talking about the audiolevel in the monitor (on the right of the timecode), what is the exact problem ? It can be enabled / disabled from the monitor menu button (right of the timecode) by "Show Audio Levels".

i am talking about the one in the monitor. when a video is in the timeline it doesn't display the levels. only when the clip is selected from the bin.

Strange. Is there anything with the track setup? Can't reproduce with self-compiled Kdenlive and MLT, applications/16.04. The monitors' audio levels have become one of the most useful tiny thing to me, so it hurts if they should not work.

I just tested in a clean ubuntu 15.10 with our master PPA, and also cannot reproduce the problem.
Farid, are you using latest version of git master ?

hmmm, i just built kdenlive today with mlt from git and it seems to work in my laptop. i will try this in my desktop where i found the problem and let you know? just a question, could this be mlt related?

cheers
