Description william.weckel 2016-03-27 14:11:51 UTC
After checking for updates and then pressing "Install updates" button, the authentication dialog appears momentarily then disappears. I then get an error message stating the operation could not be done due to an authentication error. I haven't logged in to and updated Ubuntu in several months. I did today and proceeded to install the updates that were available. The authentication process worked then but then had an error during the installation. I believe I have some non-existant sources. I rebooted, as this has solved this issue before, and tried the process again. A few more updates were found of which I tried to install and I am now continually getting the Authentication Error.

Reproducible: Always

Dear William

Thanks for taking the time to report your bug.

It sounds initially as though this issue might be very specific to your system. Could I ask you to try performing an update, and upgrade manually from the command line ( terminal )

apt-get update
apt-get install ( --fix-missing ) <- you can add this option if you get troubles
apt-get upgrade

This should clear up any missing packages, and tidy the rest up.

Perhaps then try again with Muon, and if you are still having issues, can you report back with details ?

Also if you can provide details as to which version of Ubuntu you are running, and the versioin of Muon you have installed that would be excellent

Thanks
Rick

Authentication error

I think I'm having the same error. Although muon reports its version as 6.6, which is not even available in the dropdown menu.
