Description cotkocot 2016-03-25 10:20:02 UTC
This is not a bug, more a feature request, I'm writing it here because I don't know where else to put it:)

Right now I have clipboard turned off in plasmoid and turn it on only when I need to actually copy something to a phone. This is because I do lots of long text copying and I noticed my computer starting to do weird stuff (not remembering what I copied, cutting off some text, getting slow after copying etc.) and found out this was related to kdeconnect.

Since I think it's a bit cumbersome manually switching it on and off, I think It would be awesome if options/settings were added to a clipboard plugin (like there are for run commands and share and receive) where we could set maximum number of characters; for example if you set the max chars to 400 then longer text would always be either cut off or maybe even ignored/not copied at all (maybe there could be radio option to select what user prefers).

Reproducible: Always

This request sounds reasonable.

Can you please find out exactly how long was that text which caused the misbehavior? Or at least give a rough estimate.

I think an option can also be added to make KDE connect plasmoid only share clipboard when manually requested (like the behavior of the android app).
