Description William L. Thomson Jr. 2016-03-23 17:09:20 UTC
It is VERY annoying to have kmail change the font when copying/pasting text into an email. This is a plain text email, so it should not change fonts other than the one set for the composer. Not sure if a setting could be made to fix the font so any copy/paste with different font would be ignored. Really do not see the benefit or why it should carry the font over in the first place. Maybe if it was a HTML email and you wanted to preserve the font. This could be carrying over from underlying libraries used and not be specific to kmail. But when composing email, and I copy and paste text. It should all be in the same font as the email was being composed it, which mine is set to Nimbus Sans, a default I did not set that.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy text from another application in a different font into Kmail
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The copy/pasted text is in a different font than the rest of the email.

Expected Results:
The font does not change, and remains the same font as the email was being composed it, just copys/pastes the text and if needed does any font conversion. But should just ignore the font.

I can copy/paste text all day long into kwrite without it changing fonts. In fact sometimes I will paste into kwrite and then into kmail to skip the font conversion part. Maybe its something to do with klipper and having it not copy/paste or bring over the font information.

This is not an issue anymore when using the plain text editor
