Description David Jones 2016-03-15 14:01:20 UTC
This is for version 3.14.8.

I'm unable to repeat a character using N => shift+i => character => esc.

This has been working for as long as I can remember on every other distro I've used, except CentOS 6. I would expect that CentOS 7 has a new enough version of Kate for this feature to be present.

I tried enabling VI override of Kate shortcuts, but that didn't do it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kate
2. Enable VI mode
3. Try the "repeat character" vi shortcut.

Actual Results:
Only the first character is created.

Expected Results:
Create N identical characters.

Can't reproduce here on version 17.08.2
The characters are always repeated when going back to normal mode.

Reopen if you see the issue with newer versions.
