Description Ondřej Kučera 2016-03-05 16:11:55 UTC
I have two jabber accounts. For one of them, the password is remembered (via KDE wallet). For the other one, I'm asked for the password every time Telepathy tries to connect. Checking "Save password" has no effect. This is especially annoying when on a less reliable connection where it can mean I'm asked for the password several times an hour.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go online
2. Enter the password and check "Save password".

Actual Results:
The password is never saved (for this account).

Expected Results:
The password is saved and I'm not asked for it in the future.

Version: 15.12.2

I can confirm this problem with a jabber account of mine. Even deleting and recreating it did not help.

The problem was triggered by an upgrade from Fedora 23 to Fedora 24. KDE versions were mostly similar between both, having plasma 5.6 and kde frameworks 15.23.

kWallet itself is working. After having freshly started into a kde session, after having entered the password (and clicked on "save password") the credentials for kwallet are requested and the wallet is opened. But it looks like nothing is written into it.
As a test I have deleted the accounts folder in the wallet. Entering the password in the telepathy credential request dialog triggers recreation of the accounts folder. But it stays empty, the password is not saved into it.

Very annoying bug. I am happy to investigate in case I get some instructions.

I solved this now be carefully deleting the account and recreating it. Saved it between and made sure, that the old account was really not existing before creating a new one.
Although fixable, this stays a problem.
