Applet works normally if added to desktop. However, if you add it to a panel it is invisible but messes up the positioning of other applets on the panel.

I'm affected by this issue as well. I'm using the same version and the same distribution as perrantrevan.

similar but a bit more bizarre - adding it to the panel (which is centered and not maximized) causes the panel to move to the top and be left aligned.

as with original poster placing it on the desktop is not problematic

Same issue since the update of QT to 5.6 from 5.5 and still with 5.5.5 version of kdeplasma-addons
