Quite often I have DigiKam open, and drag clips that I want to edit to the project bin, only to immediately drag them into the timeline. Audio clips are handled by Amarok, but it's the same thing, they all have to go into the project bin first. Fact of the matter is that digital media is handled by helper applications, and dragging and dropping is the usual way things happen. It would be really awesome if it was possible to drag a clip from another application straight to the timeline. Any clip that is added to the timeline directly will of course also get a clip in the project bin, but one does not have to _see_ that happening, unless the project bin is open. Reproducible: Always
Evert, not sure what the correct order or sequence of the clips dropped onto the timeline would be? How does Amarok handle this situation? Simply sequencing the clips in time by alphabetically sorted name?
Whichever order they are displayed in would be my guess. As far as I am aware this is something that KDE handles transparently when dragging lists of files around.
It seems that this report is related to a very old unmaintained version. A lot changed since then and it is likely that this has been fixed (based on some tests i made). Feel free to reopen this bug or create a new report if this is still happening with the latest version (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/)
