Description eezacque 2016-03-03 18:38:46 UTC
I have one movie I cannot effectively add to the timeline: while I can drag it in position, I cannot scrub the playhead across, or add effects or transitions. I can quit kdenlive, but it leaves a kdenlive process running at 100% CPU (these things stack up).

Reproducible: Sometimes

It happens with one specific movie (avi, 5MB, 30 fps) I expect to be able to solve it by converting this into a different format.

Don't think this is a kdenlive bug.c ould you test with newer version and mark as solved?

eezacque, can you please test with melt and ffmpeg if the same or similar problem happens when you try to play your particular movie file? As Kdenlive uses ffmpeg for decoding and MLT for playing av media, it is probably a general issue out of scope of Kdenlive. Which MLT and ffmpeg versions do you have installed. Also, without the concrete movie file, it is impossible to reproduce your problem. The report at this time is not extemely useful, I'm afraid.
