Description PGillespie 2016-02-27 21:13:33 UTC
This concerns the little tab on the right screen edge with the Hamburger for activating the Widget, Activities. Lock Screen, Show Desktop Menu. If I choose to activate the Widget or Activities Sidebar, the sidebar blips (technical term) into view for a fraction of a second before disappearing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Plasma/Desktop(?) tab for menu options.
2. Choose 'Activities' or 'Add Widgets...' Menu Option.

Actual Results:
Sidebar does not remain accessible.

Expected Results:
Sidebar remains accessible.

Am currently set up with two Activities.

can't reproduce.
perhaps focus-follows-mouse?

I can reproduce it. It occurs on the second time when you try to open any of these sidebars.
It is quite annoying.
Comment 3 vstebra 2016-03-30 10:34:17 UTC
It also occurs on version 5.6.1

Have same problems in openSUSE Leap 42.1 (Plasma 5.5.5), but happens only sometimes.

I have this problem with the widgets sidebar. I use Focus Follows Mouse - Mouse Precedence. The sidebar opens to the right. My panel is on the left. So If I want to add a widget, I need to move my mouse all the way over to the sidebar, and if it passes over anything the sidebar disappears.

I've started hiding all icons but depending on how I do it, opening the widget-sidebar also makes all windows visible, so I have to manually minimize/shade all windows in a path over to the sidebar and then gingerly drag the widget I need all the way back.

My problem would be solved by any of:
* the sidebar opening on the left.
* the sidebar not closing automatically.
* the sidebar behaving more like a window so I can set window rules on it.

This thing is gone now; so the bug is gone too. :)
