Description Tomasz Kuchta 2016-02-22 12:08:44 UTC
A file 587123.pdf is displayed incorrectly in Evince 3.16.1, under Ubuntu 15.10.
Second page is empty (while it should contain contents), the last page is not displayed (while it should show a picture).

Compared with Firefox, Chromium and MuPDF.

The file comes from the Govdocs1 data set (http://digitalcorpora.org/corpora/govdocs)
and can be extracted from this archive: http://digitalcorpora.org/corp/files/govdocs1/zipfiles/587.zip

I would be grateful for confirming.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open the file
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Page 2 empty
Page 4 missing some parts
The last page all black

Expected Results:
Page 2 should contain text
The last page should contain a picture

I'm sorry I can't attach the file since it exceeds the limit (it's ~8MB).

Apologies - the description mentions Evince - it's a copy paste error (Evince also has this problem). This bug report is supposed to be for Okular. Sorry for the mistake.

The file is broken (Adobe Reader will tell you on opening), hence it's not displayed correctly.

Adobe Reader does a better job than poppler on recovering it, but that's hardly a bug.

Anyway if you feel strongly about this should work even if the file is broken file a bug for poppler in the freedesktop bugzilla.
