If you have a launcher in the taskbar for kmail and restart plasmashell when kmail is running, it creates a new taskbar item for kmail instead of using its launcher. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Add a launcher for kmail in the taskbar 2.Start kmail 3.Restart plasmashell Actual Results: A new taskbar item is created for kmail Expected Results: The launcher is used as kmail's taskbar presence
This is due to KMail being broken and setting kmail2 as its WM_CLASS when its desktop file is named org.kde.kmail.desktop. I recently had a talk with the KMail devs about this and they're thinking about fixing it. Reassigning.
