after write metadate in exif, metadata like copyright, some files stay on the folder with ending like xx.jpg2614 . they have 2 or 20B. looks like temp files. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.selekt some picture 2. choose metadate like copyright or/and tags 3. apply
With metadata BQM tool digiKam do not create temp file. But Exiv2 in background yes. So i suspect a Exiv2 bug. Please check Exiv2 bugzilla history to be sure if problem have already been reported. Gilles Caulier
ou shit, since 13.12.2015 exiv comments are wrong in my picture. 12.12 I installed the new Opensuse leap. shit! whitch is the right exiv2 version do you recommend?
problem is, I can write just one Comment (Beschreibung) in the picture. When I edis this comment later, nothing happen and then, I get the temp exiv file.
Exiv2 0.25. 0.24 is full of bugs... Gilles Caulier
strange. Put some comment in the picture like written and have them some, not for all, temp files. but when i put later the copywrite information on the picture, no temp file anymore. When then i put a seconde tag in the picture, temp file on all picture occurent
I'm sure this temp file is generated by Exiv2, not digiKam... Gilles Caulier
Can you reproduce the problem using digiKam 5.0.0 and Exiv2 0.25 ? Gilles Caulier
Any feedback with current AppImage bundle for Linux ? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM Gilles Caulier
Update: using Opensuse Leap 42.3, KDE 5.8.7, Digikam 5.7.0; KDE Frameworks 5.32.0 Qt 5.6.2 (kompiliert gegen 5.6.2), exiv2 0.26-86.1 Digikam Settings changed to "use lazy synchronisation" No it works fin with new photos. On old photos means before changed setting to lazy sync., comment is missing in exif data. Now when i select picture and go to write metadata in picture, nothing happens, still missing comment. Also when i edit the picture comment using Digikam, nothing happens on old pictures. Maybe this info help for fixing?
digiKam 7.0.0 stable release is now published: https://www.digikam.org/news/2020-07-19-7.0.0_release_announcement/ We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version. Best Regards Gilles Caulier
Problem not reproducible since a while. Work fine with digiKam 7.3.0 and Exiv2 0.27.4
