Description Thomas Pfeiffer 2016-02-15 22:52:02 UTC
With the currently used font size and the size of the table cells for applications, the summary (short description) is almost always cut off, and even the names are often cut off.
The descriptions are cut off so early that they're basically useless for most applications.

We need a smaller font or bigger boxes or a combination of both.

GNOME Software and Ubuntu Software Center have much bigger boxes in their category pages which fit the complete summary for most applications, and they use smaller fonts in the start page so he names are not cut off.

Reproducible: Always

There you go. As described: All summaries are cut off, and many names, too.

Then we need to find a better design there, I don't think it's a matter of juggling the font sizes.

This is the design we're going for:

The grid was redesigned to better fit descriptions.
