When I want to exit I tried File, quit but nothing happens. No exit and no save. (as set up) 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click file in menu bar 
2.click quit in drop down menu
3.

Actual Results:  
none

Expected Results:  
closure of program 

Please note that I am new at this program having started today but I have spent an hour trying to close it and reading help.

Do you remember what was shown on the status line at the bottom of the application window when this happened? Usually it says 'Ready'.

Sorry Thomas I have  closed it with task manager and now I have reopened it
the program closes as expected. I'm wondering whether there was a hidden
popup window waiting for a response.
