Description vitoriung 2016-02-09 13:04:49 UTC
The desktop has been very slow after upgrade to Kubuntu 15.10

Found out that Nvidia X server settings reports almost no GPU memory available(spikes to 100% eventually together with GPU utilization):

 Attribute 'NvidiaDriverVersion' (vpkubuntu:0[gpu:0]): 352.63
 Attribute 'TotalDedicatedGPUMemory' (vpkubuntu:0[gpu:0]): 1020.
 Attribute 'UsedDedicatedGPUMemory' (vpkubuntu:0[gpu:0]): 849.
 Attribute 'GPUUtilization' (vpkubuntu:0[gpu:0]): graphics=9, memory=28, video=0, PCIe=2

Xrestop:
$xrestop - Display: localhost
          Monitoring 59 clients. XErrors: 29
Pixmaps: 81084K total, Other: 108K total, All: 81193K total

HW:
GeForce GT610
32GB RAM
 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz

Reproducible: Always

Seems like this would have been a problem with the NVIDIA driver.
