Description Fabian Rost 2016-02-09 09:35:37 UTC
I installed RSIBreak via `sudo apt-get install rsibreak` on Kubuntu 14.04.3 (Trusty). The RSIBreak version is 0.11. I use the Kubuntu Backports ppa, the KDE version is 4.14.13. Maybe important: I use two monitors.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on RSIBreak icon in Systray
2. Click "Configure RSIBreak ..."
3. Choose the Actions menu
4. Change any notification setting (e.g. show a message in a popup for "End of long break")
5. Click OK
6. Reopen the menu

Actual Results:
The change in the notification setting is gone.

Expected Results:
The change in the notification setting is saved.

If I change the notifcations via
1. Right click on RSIBreak icon in Systray
2. Click "Configure Notifications ..."
3. Change any notification setting (e.g. show a message in a popup for "End of long break")
4. Click OK
then the notification setting is saved.

rsibreak 0.11 is unsupported, only 0.12 is now, what you describe works fine for me on 0.12, please if you upgrade and still doesn't work reopen the bug.

Is there a repository that provides rsibreak 0.12 for Trusty?
Comment 3 Fabian Rost 2016-02-09 12:47:31 UTC
Or is there somewhere described how to build RSIBreak from the sources? Trying to build version 0.12.1 I got the following error:

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:6 (find_package):
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "ECM" (requested
version 1.7.0) with any of the following names:

    ECMConfig.cmake
    ecm-config.cmake

Add the installation prefix of "ECM" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set "ECM_DIR"
to a directory containing one of the above files. If "ECM" provides a
separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been installed.

I have no idea but i doubt it

Trying to compile the new RSIBreak on Trusty is going to be hard since RSIBreak 0.12 is based on libraries that are not avaiable in Trusty, unless you *really* *really* need the new features i'd just wait for Xenial, which will be LTS too as trusty and has rsibreak 0.12.

If you want it, you need to compile all the dependencies too, and that's going to be lots of compiling, you probably even need to compile Qt5
Comment 5 Fabian Rost 2016-02-10 10:12:45 UTC
I'll wait for Xenial and then report back.
Thanks for the help Albert!

I installed RSIBreak 0.12 on another machine. Kubuntu 15.10, KDE 5.18.0, QT 5.5.1. The issue is still present.
Comment 7 Albert Astals Cid 2016-02-10 22:04:36 UTC
Did you compile rsibreak yourself?
Comment 8 Fabian Rost 2016-02-11 09:40:06 UTC
No. I installed it via `sudo apt-get install rsibreak`on two systems on two different machines:

Kubuntu 14.04.3, KDE 4.14.13, RSIBreak 0.11 (that was the initial bug report)
Kubuntu 15.10, KDE 5.18.0, QT 5.5.1, RSIBreak 0.12 (there the bug is also present)

Both have the Kubuntu backports ppa included in the sources.
Comment 9 Albert Astals Cid 2016-02-11 10:18:36 UTC
Kubuntu 15.10 (wily) does not have rsibreak 0.12, does it?

Comment 10 Albert Astals Cid 2016-02-11 10:22:30 UTC
Ah, the ppa backports has 0.12, still works for me on xenial though, kind of weird.
Comment 11 Fabian Rost 2016-02-11 19:12:45 UTC
Well, I'll wait for Xenial then and report back.
