Description Ted Nielsen 2016-02-05 10:16:07 UTC
Top most text-menu (File, edit, view...) gets unresponsive when in fullscreen mode on windows 10. This is for the pre-alpha 2 build provided on krita.org

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. put krita in full screen mode through the view menu
2. draw some strokes (not sure if this is needed, but it was what I did)
3. try to click on any of the text menus

Actual Results:
no menus appear when clicking

Expected Results:
menus should appear when clicking

bug was presenty in alpha 1 as well for me

Thanks for reporting.

I can't reproduce it on Kubuntu 15.10, so someone else needs to check if it's a windows thing.

It works on Windows 7... Haven't yet tested on a Win 10 machine.

Tried again as soon as I came home, tried to pinpoint whats happening. If I just open up Krita and go fullscreen before opening a canvas, the menus still work fine, but as soon as I create a canvas, the menu then becomes unresponsive. I can still paint, change brushes, and other parts of the UI remain responsive.

I tested that, too, on a Windows 10 laptop and I still couldn't reproduce the issue :-(

That´s really odd then. It´s definitely not present in the latest official (2.9) release.
Comment 7 Ted Nielsen 2016-03-15 13:04:09 UTC
Still present in Alpha 3... it´s not a huge deal, I can just avoid fullscreen mode... weird it´s not affecting anyone else, though.

Yes, it's really strange -- i have tried on a number of windows laptops, and never encountered it. I'm afraid we'll have to conclude it something local to your setup. Can you test on another windows system?
Comment 9 Ted Nielsen 2016-03-22 16:44:36 UTC
I´ll see if I can find another system to test on. For now, it works to just use the shortcut (ctrl+shift+F) to get out of fullscreen mode when I need to. Guess I´ll just have to learn common shortcuts ;)

I'm sorry, but this is a bug in Qt: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-41309 -- and we cannot do anything about it but removing the fullscreen option on Windows!
