Description d.soergel 2016-02-03 18:29:08 UTC
Application: amarok (2.8.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.9
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 3.16.7-29-desktop x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE 13.2 (Harlequin) (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:restarted the app after having installed updates. If someone knows how to get the latest changes with zypper...

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

- Custom settings of the application:I changed backend to vlc after some time on gstreamer. They couldn't read many files, so I updated all packages (sudo zypper dup) and more specifically the codecs. The update worked, because vlc can read everything.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Amarok (amarok), signal: Segmentation fault

This is a bug in your distro's vlc packaging (there's one here at bugs.kde.org collecting a bunch of dup's, but I can't find it at the moment.

Indeed, please send this bug report to Opensuse, this is a downstream problem.

FWIW: you do not have debugging symbols installed, for future backtraces, please make sure to install those to get a better backtrace. See also https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#openSUSE
