I am using version 1:5.16.3-2 present in debian. No errors whatsoever are shown so it is impossible to fix issues. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new jabber account 2. Insert some random stuff as username, password, and server 3. Set availability online Actual Results: The account (obviously) remains offline, but no error is ever shown to explain what is happening and why the account is remaining online Expected Results: A popup saying "Server not responding". If the server does indeed exist, another popup saying "Password incorrect" asking for another login. I am marking this as grave because I can't connect to what I wish to connect and I have no way of establishing what is going on. I can connect fine with kopete and I just copied the same settings.
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Created attachment 136553 [details] attachment-24391-0.html Since FB and Google and slack no longer support xmpp, I have not used telepathy in a long time. Also I never managed to make it work at all. It was an overengineered dbus mess without even a clear way to start it. Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
