Description Mehmet Topsakal 2016-01-26 15:49:03 UTC
Hi there,

I use konqueror for all file management stuff. But this also happens with dolphin.

Both dolphin and konqueror used to update its view soon after any file changes happen. For example, consider a folder with some directories and text files. When I trash a file with right click menu, it disappears immediately. However, when I remove same file from terminal using "rm" command, it stays in dolphin or konqueror view until I do "reload" from main toolbar.

This was not the case with previous versions. Konqueror and dolphin was applying file changes immediately.

Thanks

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open dolphin or konqureor and navigate to ~
2. create a file or folder.
3. then remove newly created file or folder using terminal.
4. konqureor or dolphin do not respond to step-3 above.

Actual Results:
no update

Expected Results:
update folder contents.

Thanks for the bug report, but I cannot reproduce the problem. KDirLister from the KIO framework is responsible for notifying Dolphin and other applications about changes in the current directory, but the reason why this does not work in your system might be something else (i.e., not in KIO).

Do you use FAM? inotify? Is this a NFS mount or a local filesystem? Enable debug output from kdirwatch, what does it say? Try running the kdirwatch unittests in kcoreaddons/autotests?

This was not on NSF share. Somehow I cannot reproduce the problem too. Indeed I carefully checked before reporting this bug. I will check further.

Thanks.
