I'm using the Cube setup for multiple workspaces (3x3) in Kubuntu. After a few days, my monitor started flickering, especially (but not only) when changing between workspaces. I Googled that I should select 'full screen repaints' under 'vsync' in the compositor settings. This momentarily solved the problem, but it returned a couple of days later. The problem goes a few for a few days when I perform seemingly any change in the compositor settings and click 'apply' - even if I, say, select a different setting for vsync, select the original one again, and only THEN click 'apply', so it seems something magical is happening when the apply button is pressed. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable multiple workspaces (3x3) with cube animation. 2. Change compositor settings 3. Reboot a few times (there doesn't seem to be a pattern) Actual Results: Monitor flickers wildly until compositor settings are changed again. Expected Results: Monitor would stop flickering permanently after selecting 'full screen repaints' for vsync settings.
