Creating a zip file using right-click | Compress | Compress to | set filter to "application/zip" This should create a file of type"application/x-7z-compressed" (which can be read by okular as a comic book archive). Instead a file of type "application/x-7z-compressed" is created (which currently cannot be opened by okular) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. select jpg files to compress 2. right-click | Compress | Compress to | set filter to "application/zip" 3. show properties of the zip file, this shows "application/x-7z-compressed" Actual Results: "application/x-7z-compressed" Expected Results: "application/x-7z-compressed"
Thanks for the bug report. The "Compress" service menu is provided by Ark -> I'll reassign this report.

You meant "application/zip"? Btw I was able to reproduce it after unchecking the "automatically select filename extension" checkbox. As a temporary workaround, please make sure to add the ".zip" extension when you choose the archive's filename. Or just use the "Compress Here (as ZIP)" service menu entry.
> You meant "application/zip"? Of course, that's what I meant, sorry, my mistake. And indeed, I forgot to mention that I unchecked the "automatically select filename extension" checkbox. I normally use this shortcut to create .cbz files (comic book reader), to be viewed via Okular. I will use one of the workarounds you described for the time being; no problem. Thanks for the support. Bart
What Ark should do is setting the -tzip switch of 7z.
