Description Larry 2016-01-16 16:15:14 UTC
Fedora 21 and previous other distros that used KDE4, included the "Konqueror Bookmarks" widget. This widget was a huge advantage to using KDE over all other desktops. This incredibly important widget disappeared from KDE starting with Fedora 22. Given posts about other missing widgets, I decided to wait to see what would happen with Fedora 23 but it is still missing and there isn't any indication of its status. Without this widget (plasmoid now?), Gnome may be more attractive. I would be very surprised if I am the only person that uses this widget.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to add a widget to a panel or desktop and browse the list of available widgets.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The widget isn't available and there aren't any comp[arable alternative.

Expected Results:
The familiar yellow star would appear and I could import my bookmarks using the Bookmark Editor.

There is an average of 38 different shortcuts on the 4 desktops that I use this widget on.

On a daily basis, I probably use this widget more than all other widgets combined.

Did I open this ticket in the right place?

Confirmed here on Debian unstable (KDE packages mostly around 5.4.3).

Hugely useful feature to have this shortcut to a subset of your konq bookmarks in the panel.

Any chance we can get it ported up to plasma? Pretty please?

I changed the product since no developers commented on the issue if it wasn't initially properly assigned. Hopefully, someone will either acknowledge it or assign it to the correct group.

This isn't really the right place. It should have been against plasmashell.

We're not taking feature requests there.
