Description Pauli Huttunen 2016-01-13 18:28:20 UTC
Can't configure and apply a layout for multiple displays. The options arent applied on ok/apply.
When choosing a primary display from the drop menu the menu selection resets by itself in 1-2 senconds to "No primary output".
This applies to both systemsettings and the kcm module.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open "Display Configuration".
2. Change the display layout / choose a primary display.
3. Press ok/apply.

Actual Results:
Nothing is changed or applied.

Expected Results:
A working configured dispaly layout with a primary display.

This happened after the latest kde application (15.12.1) updates on Arch Linux.
So far the configuration has been working flawlessly with two displays by having the secondary display being above the primary display.

Im using the NVIDIA 358.16 binary drivers.

Found a temporary fix by running systemsettings5 as sudo and configuring display settings from there.

I have the same problem. Before the latest update I had no problems using two external displays on my laptop, with my laptop display turned off. I'm also using NVIDIA drivers, supplied by openSUSE repositories.

Before the update I could use both the KDE System Settings/Display and Monitor/Display Configuration and the NVIDIA nvidia-settings to configure the display layout. After the update, none of these work.

Using the method mentioned above (running systemssettings5 as sudo) I managed to get back to something that enabled me to at least work, before this all displays where just black when booting up. But it feels very unstable. For example, I cannot turn off my laptop display and only use the two external displays.

I have Gnome 3 and LXDE installed, using both Gnome 3 and LXDE I can configure the displays the way I want.

Forgot to mention I'm running openSUSE Leap 42.1, Plasma 5.5.3, Qt 5.5.1.
