Description hesediel 2016-01-13 17:37:05 UTC
The scan front and back (duplex mode) for epson wf 4630 doesnt work, The hardware correctly scan the double faces of the paper but the software shows only the front.

With another program, like vuescan it works, so it seems to be not a linux "in se" problem

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the report!

Unfortunately I do not have a scanner that supports duplex scanning and can not test properly.

Does simplescan or scan2pdf work with duplex scanning?

I would like to help, but it might require that you compile libksane and skanlite. Are you up to that?

Simplescan or scan2pdf doesn't work.
Simplescan has the same behavior of skanlite: in duplex mode the hardware does turn the paper for the double scan but only the front page is showed like the software gives the correct command but didn't receive the both scans.

I was today able to run the Image Scan! for Linux: software downloaded from the epson site...it has problems to see the hardware, thanks to a man i was able to run it...with it it works.

unfortunatley i don't know how to compile libksane and skanlite

OK,

Thanks for the information! Since Simplescan and scan2pdf do not work either, the bug is in the "driver" (sane-backend) and not in the application.

Bug reporting for the backend is at:
http://www.sane-project.org/bugs.html

Reporting there would be great ;)

Thanks,
  Kåre
